What is the OpenCarf?

This community is for the discussion of the roles of the cloud in the academic fields as well as the cloud’s reference architectures which can be applied in education and research.

OpenCarf is the forum to discuss the architectures, APIs and the practicality of the cloud platform software, especially focusing on open source solutions. In addition to provide information on our website, we plan to share the information and discussion through the mailing list as well as organize study sessions, workshops, seminars, and lectures. OpenCarf stands for Open Cloud Architecture for Academia Forum and combines the word “Calf” (that is the baby of large animals) with “Open” to imply the meaning that we are rearing the cloud from its infancy and in an ‘Open’ manner.
